KidsLogic Back To The Future tips and safety for mounting the car.(read discription)
I've also forgotten to say that you must:
a) Not use the item for more than 8 hours straight.
b) Once finished, remove the car, and then unplug the power adapter from the base. ALSO UNPLUG the power adaptor from the main power socket/outlet.

Which will be better Bontrager Flare Rt Or Ravemen Tr300 ?
I have not tested the Ravemen Lights. Before the Bontrager, I had some awesome lights from Designshine with 500 Lumens ( ua-cam.com/video/NyjPNub3sKE/v-deo.html ) made in house in the USA 🇺🇸. Those were the only daytime lights I could find back in 2012. But they were bulky and extremely heavy. I later preferred the Bontrager because : 1- They are much smaller in size and compact. 2- they’ve conducted scientific research to see how Driver’s react ua-cam.com/video/djUHht74r-s/v-deo.html 3- They can be controlled by remote or a Garmin computer 4- No need for cables/wires. 5- they have a unique flash pattern which catches the attention of drivers. Also, Instead of high Lumens like the good old days, the bontrager’s have FOCUS beam which directs scattered light towards drivers. ( so think of the concept of lasers. They are low lumen but are very bright). By the looks of the ravemen Rt300, they seem to have more lumens but look much bulkier although they seem to fit aero seat post right out of the box . But like I said, I haven’t tested them, and also lumens alone is not enough to be considered a safety feature, light patterns and FOCUSed light are important factors. Remember, the brightest light is the sun ☀️. No light can match the sun’s lumens. So that’s why Focus beam technology in bontrager is important for me.
@@abbreviateTome you are right but as I have already have Two of the Ravemen Pr 2400, so I will stick to Ravemen. I am a Ravemen fan. Try Ravemen Pr 2400 the best bike front light till now available in the market. High & Low Beam.....
Sir, can I get the Daytime 90 Lumens flashing at night if I don't turn on the sensor?
Hi, yes you can. If the sensor is off, you can access all modes any time. ⚠️But caution : 1- if you ride with daytime mode , you WILL piss off many drivers and they will become angry 😡 2- you will literally blind them in that critical moment, this is also dangerous because they won’t be able to judge how far they are from you when passing. I highly advise against using Daytime ( 90 lumin) or the Daytime ( 45 lumin ) or even (25lumin )setting at night. ONLY use night mode.
Thanks for detailed information.
Can the red light lamp connect to the garmin 350?
I don’t have a garmin. Only a wahoo. But I do know that some Garmin computers connect to the light. You will have to see the manual instructions that came with your Garmin or on the website.
Ouch I was just about to order this until you said the recharge time. I might still get it since I have a tendency to take the light off the bike as soon as I get home and plug it in to charge it but I am astonished that they don’t have something that seems like it’s in the modern era of charging with all of the other good engineering in the design
To be fair. They are not that much of a problem. The front light lasts much more than the rear, but the rear light is faster to charge. I’m in the habit of just charging it when I get home if it needs be. I don’t commute by bike so I do need to charge it as often. The capabilities of being able to charge any battery on earth is to have Colbolt in them. After hearing a Podcast on Spotify ( Joe Rogan #1914) and the disgusting sub human levels of slavery that go’s into this, I was shocked. The book 📚 (Cobalt Red: How the Blood of the Congo Powers Our Lives) is coming out soon too. After knowing this , me personally I now prefer these batteries over the iphone 14 pro which I’m currently typing on. I know I’ve swerved off topic a little, but we buy this gear for our safety on the roads. I’d like to know that it’s not at the cost of other children’s safety when mining for the colbolt batteries. With these light, I can rest a little better knowing they haven’t had this stuff put in them as of YET. nevertheless, they are excellent light especially when paired with that remote I demonstrate in another video. So handy especially in the winter with gloves and multiple lights. I’d say go for them if wireless lights is your thing. If you want more powerful lights but with a bulky battery pack and wires, theres this company called designShine made by an independent American engineer. Fantastic lights. Still got them. Only problem they were bulky. But these from Bontreger are just what i need.
Good review, thanks for posting!
These lights are highly functional but they only last for 1 year (I have had 3 of them) before the battery and/or the switches fail, and cannot be replaced which for the price, is ridiculous.

Wow, only a year ! Mine are still working. Where are you buying them from? and I wonder if you’re sealing the lights properly after charging.
@@abbreviateTome I wanted to mention that I was in no way trying to diminish your review. Furthermore I discovered that the ligts have a two year warranty so I brought them back and they (Trek Maple Ridge, BC) gave me two new ones without any hissing. The replacement lights also have a 2 year warranty. Best wishes Yusuf
@@TheRobertKlein I never took it that way bro 🤜🤛. I was genuinely shocked they only lasted a year. Good thing they honoured their warranty. Best of luck with the new set 🙏
Killer video, including the pairing procedure is a step above bontragers explanation. Pairing had me hung up but you really got it straightened out. Thanks!
Thanks!
Can you put link ..to.buy. thanks
This remote has been discontinued unfortunately. You can find it on the U.S website still in stock.
Will this connect via Bluetooth to my phone to check on the battery level?
No
I have the garmin edge 130 plus and these lights work with it as well. Thanks for the heads up on the charging hiccups and the ambient light by pass.
Awesome to know. Thanks for your contribution 😃
Thank you. Was stuck on why it wouldn’t charge for ages
Glad it helped : )
Hello, I know this video was made some years ago but I wanted to ask, with the remote can you change from high to low with the front light, without having to scroll through the flashing modes, is this possible? Thanks.
Hi, When you click the middle button it acts as an emergency light and switches to the highest steady beam from whichever mode you’re on. Click it again and you’re back to your original setting. Other than that, it needs to be toggled.
Hello, I know this video was made some years ago but I wanted to ask, with the remote can you change from high to low with the front light, without having to scroll through the flashing modes, is this possible? Thanks.
Hello, just saw this. The middle button acts as an Emergency light. So that means whatever setting you have, if you click the middle button, it will default to the brightest light for you to see and ovoid an obstacle. If you click in again it go’s back to what you had. I’ve just check and you can ride with steady low beam, then if you click the middle button, it will activate the highest steady beam. Unfortunately you can’t toggle through the steady/solid mode without passing the flashing ( which is illegal in some countries such as Germany 🇩🇪 to my knowledge). So that is the only hack. Choose low beam or medium, then if you need extra light hit that middle button.
şefim bu on far usb den sarj olurkende yanabılıyor mu ?
When I turn on the front light, it starts to heat up. Is this normal?
If it’s on the high setting, it should only heat up a little bit. Not too much. If it’s very hot, then I think you might have a faulty product.
really glad you made this video
I am trying to connect garmin 1030 to ION elite R, it does not seem to work. Anyone with possible solutions? I appreciate any help thanks.
Thanks again. Keep referring back to your video 👍
Wish I’d known this before. Thanks for a great review.
Thanks for this review. Very helpful.
Thanks for this. Very helpful
Hello, can I charge the lamp with a power bank while it is in use?
Hi, the short answer is Yes you can. Although I wouldn’t recommend it because the flap is open and you expose it to the elements dust or rain. Also I do not know the Ratio of charging to discharge while the light is ON. maybe it will prolong its deletion and maybe it will charge it to full capacity.
@@abbreviateTome Many thanks for your response. That is a big advantage over the GARMIN UT800. You cannot reload it when it is in operation. The lamp goes off. Whether the charging current is sufficient to fully charge the lamp while driving is also not the priority. The main thing is that the lighting time is extended a little!
Good job on the review.
Katlanır bisikletim için ışık bakarken denk geldim, sanırım Türk'sün selam olsun. 🙂 Kaliteli ışık belli, lakin buralarda varmı dır, varsa da kaçadır kimbilir.
Selam, İzlediğiniz için teşekkürler. 4 kez Turki'ye gittim ama hiç bisiklet sürmedim. Maalesef türkçe olmadığım için google translate kullanıyorum.
Mine stopped workind after being in a rain
That is strange, these are IPX7 rated, which means it can withstand being submerged in water up to 1 Meter for 30 minutes. Were you sure that you properly closed the sealants after charging? if so, take it back. They should cover it under their warranty. I have used mine, and have jet washed the top half of my bike with the light still on, no problems for me so far.
@@abbreviateTome i did but i used it upside down but the usb cover was closed properly. I dont have the receipt anymore i bought it a few months back. Only used it about 3 times. Practically brand new. Still Have the box and everything. £150 gone to waste.
@@DippySippy I would suggest opening a ticket on Trek’s website as a last resort. See what they tell you, they might just be able to help out.
@@abbreviateTome i hope so. I will try to do it tomorrow. Hopefully they might help. I got the ion 100 one and used it for a long time in the rain. No issues or whatsoever. Very upsetting this is 😏
@@abbreviateTome Thanks mate i got in touch with them. Sent them my old one. And they have replaced it. Im so greatful. What a great company. I thought i wasted 150 just like that.
Thanks for taking time for getting this review up!
Appreciate it. Thanks for watching. Stay safe ✌️.
Where can I buy that set of lights?
Its a really excellent review bro. Thanx. 👍🏼
Would you happen to know how to setup the Flare RT (newer small square version) as Turn signal lights? I can't find the answer to this at all, anywhere.
Unfortunately not. Maybe through a Garmin gps unit. But I’ve got the Bontrager transmitter remote, and nothing on there states that I can set it up as Turn signals.
@@abbreviateTome I'm waiting on the reply from Trek cx support. The description of the Transmitr remote on their site, clearly states it can be used in combination with Flare RT to use as turn signals, however I think that description is meant for the discontinued Flare RT (non-square oval model). Thanks anyway!
This light repairable ?
Sure, you can un-save and then re-pair it in a different way. Choice is yours.
Will this work with garmin 520 plus edge computer? Thanks
No it won’t. Cheers
Excellent tutorial , Thanks.
Can you connect it to Wahoo via Ant+?
sorry for the late reply, Unfortunately not.
My tail light keeps dying when the bike sits. I charge it fully and if I don't ride it for some days it's dies. I know it has that blue little light the flashes when it's off so is that draining it? Thank you.
I’ve had mine sit for two weeks with the Bluetooth on ( blue flashing light) and its fine. Maybe you’ve got a faulty product. Try restarting it if possible that might help. Extreme cold or hot weather also plays a big factor on batteries. My bike is stored in my house 15-25 degrees centigrade.
Remote? Are these still available?
Thank you.
Natural Technologist Thank you for watching
This was very good, I have commuted years ago and this set or adjustment of lights is great also the reset of the light is a must to know. My light would only stay in bright mode and reset fixed that problem .... thanks
You’re welcome , glad it helped. Cheers.
have you tried the remote with non-bontrager, ANT+ enabled lights?
As of yet, No I have not :)
Thanks for the review. Do you think it would be possible to plug the usb into an adapter to plug it in to a wall outlet to speed up the recharging time?
Hi. Thanks. I wouldn’t recommend that with any appliance 😅. You Might short circuit it and ruin it for good. Most power banks use smart charging where it knows how much power to put out at the maximum point. I use an Anker power bank charger. Safest and fastest way to charge lights, phones...etc.
@@abbreviateTome Hi Yusuf, I just received my light set and in the user guide they show that it is safe to use an AC adapter. A 1.0 and 2.0 usb port puts out 5v 500mA DC and my phone adapter puts out 5v 1000mA DC so this should charge the lights twice as fast. I contacted Trek to find out if this would be a safe practice and he told me that it should work fine. I just thought I would share since you provided such good information. Thanks
This is the address for the manual: trek.scene7.com/is/content/TrekBicycleProducts/Asset%20Library/documents/Manuals/pdf/15TK_MANUAL_TransmitR_FULL_FINAL.pdf
I learned how to turn on my Bontrager Ion Pro RT 1300 Lumin from you thanks. Do you use an a smartphone app with the lights? I noticed they are ant+
I use a remote for it sold separately. Unfortunately there’s no app. You will see the remote towards the end of the video.
@@abbreviateTome Thanks, I did get the remote. I will be going for what could be my last ride of the season in Minnesota. Getting cold! Thanks your great
John Wexler sure is cold. Stay safe and keep them lights on 😁. Make sure to check out my other vid about the remote if you’ve still not set them up. Cheers.
Is the remote rechargeable?
It uses a non rechargeable battery. CR2032
Hi, can you tell me the measurements of the device please? Thanks
Front light: length: 10.5cm, /width: 3cm, /hight: 3cm Rear light: length 3cm, / width: 2.9/ hight: 3.6cm
Outstanding!!!!
Cheers :)
I've just bought a Flare RT rear light, for me at least, it seems the default mode is now with Ambient mode OFF (I've reset the light numerous times and each time, ambient is OFF)
Just to be sure, You want to activate it? have held down the button until it flash once?
